2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 American epic science fiction film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, and co-written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke. The film deals with thematic elements of human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence, and extraterrestrial life. It is notable for its scientific accuracy, pioneering special effects, ambiguous imagery that is open-ended to a point approaching surrealism, sound in place of traditional narrative techniques, and minimal use of dialogue. The film has a memorable soundtrack—the result of the association that Kubrick made between the spinning motion of the satellites and the dancers ofwaltzes, which led him to use The Blue Danube waltz by Johann Strauss II,and the famous symphonic poem Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss, to portray the philosophical evolution of Man theorized in Nietzsche's work of the same name.
Condition : Good to very good, the poster seemed to have been cropped, tiny tears around the poster, little loss of paper on the top left (white), 5" cut on the top, pretty used general condition but no pinholes and the colors are still awesome ! (see focus)
Important Added Info: Note that this is a really cool special commercial poster created in 1968 by Bob McCall . We do not know how many of these posters have survived. It seems likely that most would have been pinned to the walls or doors of dorm rooms and torn down and not saved. We have never sold this poster before but we saw one of this series sold $800 last year at an auction House in C6 condition. This is one of the most wanted 2001 poster ! Highly Collectible !
