Note: Presented to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFT) in February 1975, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was completely banned from theatrical release in the United Kingdom. Following this ban, the distributor made very slight cuts to the film and represented it at the BBFT. The film then received authorization to be released in theaters, but only in London and under the X film classification. Only a few posters were printed for the occasion with the mention “London”. The film was also released in a few rare provincial theaters which refused censorship, and as a result a few other cinema posters exist with the mention "Local" instead of "London". These English posters, already rare in 1975, are extremely rare today.
