This lot hails from the estate of Leonard Shrader :

  • The greatest piece is a hand written notebook that appears to be the core of the development of the 'The Yazuka' as envisioned and jotted down by the writer. It contains about 30 full pages and about 8 pages that are partial written.
  • Also included : a number of Independent Japanese Film publications, manuscripts and Japanese books that came with this lot and hail most likely from the time that Leonard Schrader spent in Japan in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
  • Among others : Tadao Sato manuscripts in English Language (possibly translated by Leonard Schrader?).
  • Among the 4 books is one book early Japan Film history in which Leonard Schrader added many expert inscriptions to the history of the various actors.(book with dampstaining)
